JOB SUMMARY:
The employee in this classification is responsible to provide coordination, administration and expertise in the areas of training, development, coordination and administration, including performance improvement initiatives. This position is also responsible to develop, deliver and maintain corporate learning, performance and training material for all areas of the corporation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Coordinate the development, analysis and delivery of training
• Instruct employees using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects
• Conduct and/or facilitate task analysis, profiles and instructional material layout
• Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
• Prepare, coordinate, administer and evaluate exams, metrics and reports to analyze and evaluate employee performance
• Analyze, design and develop efficient and effective learning and performance methods
• Assist with and/or participate in train-the-trainer instruction, analysis, design, development and delivery
• Advise students on program curriculum and training material
• Provide individual or group instruction on corporate training programs
• Research and identify ongoing improvements in learning and performance training standards
• Communicate performance levels and exam results to appropriate personnel, institutions and boards
• Provide administrative functions as required for the position
• Maintain files, records and databases associated with the department
• Supervise independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work or hands-on training
• Participate in continuous educational and professional development as required
• Other related duties, as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, Certificate or Designation in related field, or equivalent OR;
• Certificate in Adult Education, or equivalent
• Three (3) years of related experience in the analysis, design, and development of Learning and training materials; and activity-based design and delivery; or equivalent
• Excellent communication, coordination and organizational skills
• Excellent analytical, problem definition, problem solving and organizational skills
• Aptitude for accuracy and detail
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the use of the corporations standard software
• Ability to deal effectively and cooperatively with others
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, as required by the position
NOTES:
1) If the applicant does not have the Certificate in Adult Education, they must commit and have the ability to attain such within 24 months of being appointed to the position.
2) In the event there are no qualified applicants, applicants possessing the required experience may be considered for the position. The applicant must obtain the Certificate in Adult Education, or equivalent, within 24 months of being successfully appointed to the position.
3) Employees failing any prescribed examination and applicable rewrites required to achieve fully qualified status within the allowed time frame will immediately be provided a minimum 30 day working notice of lay off. Any notice greater than 30 days will be based on Employment Standards. To avoid lay off, employees will be required to procure another position through the bidding process within the notice period.
This position falls with in the scope of Unifor Local 649.
