This position falls within the requirement for Personnel Risk Assessment to meet compliance requirements of NERC-CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection).  A Criminal Record Check must be valid and/or completed prior to being appointed to this position and then on a recurring basis every seven (7) years.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Specialist is accountable to provide subject matter expertise and administration of a specialized function. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to act as a central point of contact in the management and administration of strategic and operational functions, providing expert advice and direction that aligns with departmental and corporate goals and objectives. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

•    Ensure removal of physical and logical access for completed in a timely manner for departed personnel.
•    Completion of various requests that are submitted through the ServiceNow system.
•    Manage Physical Access (door access cards and ID Cards).
•    Manage accounts and access in multiple systems and applications (Windows, SAP, Office 365, custom applications, Azure, etc.)
•    Observe all SaskPower Security policies and standards and identify required changes.
•    Ensure that security procedures are properly documented and adequately protect the computer and information assets of SaskPower.
•    Maintain application and data owner lists and provide training/support.
•    Distribution and recovery of credentials and security tokens.
•    Control and audit of elevated privileged accounts.
•    Respond to incidents relating to security access.
•    Compliance activities related to Access Management and Information Management.
•    Participate in project activity to implement security or access control solutions.
•    Perform security audits, audit reporting, and participate in internal and external audits as required.
•    Manage Security mailbox to answer questions and support end users.
•    Routinely engage with T&S teams to develop processes and workflows, review knowledgebase and support documents.
•    Educate and support leadership and admin staff regarding security and how to effectively use security and access related programs.
•    Produce or contribute to status reports and presentations in support of the department.
•    Other duties as assigned.
 

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


• Degree in Computer Science or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
• Five (5) years of related information security experience
• Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
• Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
• Excellent facilitation, project management and decision making skills
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
• Must have a continuing record of professional development 

 

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
