JOB SUMMARY:

 


Our DEI Specialist is accountable to provide subject matter expertise on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and initiatives. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, you’ll be making an impact on over 3,000 SaskPower employees by having a key role in the development and implementation of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, initiatives and supporting our overall employee experience. This position is responsible to provide expert advice and direction that aligns with our corporate goals and strategies, and develop partnerships across our business to cultivate a culture of inclusion.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 


• Create awareness, energy and enthusiasm in the organization for DEI and reinforce existing commitments to create an inclusive, engaging environment where all employees are empowered to bring their whole selves to work.
• Identify and implement strategic opportunities to cultivate and embed inclusive mindsets, behaviours and practices that enable key diversity, inclusion and engagement outcomes.
• Plan, research, develop, evaluate and support implementation of processes, policies and procedures to advance and sustain DEI strategies and initiatives.
• Manage a comprehensive DEI Communications and Events Plan and partner with existing equity groups, leadership, and industry partners as the subject matter expert for our DEI strategies.
• Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues and best practices while adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present material to internal teams and external audiences as required.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
• 5 years of related diversity experience
• Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
• Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
• Excellent facilitation, project management and decision making skills
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
• Must have a continuing record of professional development

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered

 

 Candidates under consideration may be required to participate in an assessment process consisting of any/all of the following: interview, abilities test, case study and/or presentation.
