JOB SUMMARY:

 

The employee in this classification is responsible to develop and implement work plan schedules, priorities and administrative procedures, including monitoring and controlling the flow of information and budgetary aspects for work teams and small to large corporate projects. This position is also responsible to monitor project and work progress, analyze problems, gather information and make recommendations on alternative solutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

• Oversee and coordinate project and work processes and procedures and controls, and review, evaluate and implement new procedures, ensuring they are consistently applied
• Establish, schedule and assign work priorities, measure work process performance, develop and implement metrics, and ensure timelines are met and procedures are followed
• Facilitate the coordination of schedules, monitoring and detecting deviations from work plans
• Analyze and evaluate contracts, tenders, and work related documentation
• Develop workgroup strategies in order to sustain a high level of performance
• Conduct analyses and oversee administrative operations related to budgeting, contracting and project planning and management processes
• Develop and maintain and prioritize work plans, schedules, required to ensure efficient and effective operations, updating as required
• Develop and maintain plans and strategies for major projects
• Monitor and report on progress of work schedules, plans and projects on a continual basis
• Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence
• Maintain and update documentation related to work processes
• Recommend ongoing continuous improvements in work planning, project management and scheduling practices
• Lead safety initiatives related to work objectives and projects
• Develop and deliver informal training sessions, as required
• May supervise or provide direction to departmental and related staff
• Participate in continuous educational and professional development as required
• Other related duties, as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

• The following qualification requirements will be posted in one or any combination of the following fields:
1) Interprovincial Journeyperson Power Line Technician Certificate, or equivalent
2) Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
• The following experience requirements will be posted in one or any combination of the following fields:
1) Five (5) years of related Journeyperson or Technologist experience in distribution, or equivalent OR;
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
• Excellent project management, time management, analytical, problem definition and problem solving skills
• Ability to use MS Office and related software applications
• Ability to organize and coordinate a number of diverse assignments among internal and external staff and contractors
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, as required by the position
